BBC Studios Kids & Family is looking to fill senior roles, signaling a repositioning of the division to run the business under one team, one roster and one budget.

The division – led by chief executive Cecilia Persson (pictured) – recently listed a trio of newly created positions on various job boards: vice president/creative director of development, head of content strategy and head of commerce.

The studio is restructuring its kids and family division to combine kids’ teams, slates and budgets. The division is focused on growing its animation, high-end drama and preschool categories in particular.

“To ensure that the Kids & Family structure of BBC Studios is more competitive in a global market, we will reposition the division under five operational pillars: business, commercial, development, production and content strategy,” confirmed BBC Studios in a press release by e-mail. at Children’s screen. “The new roles announced reflect these ambitions.”

The restructuring aligns with the pubcaster’s consolidation strategy, announced earlier this year. This will see the structure of the division move two teams – content partnerships and production – each with their own separate slates and budgets, to one with a common approach.

Persson is expected to reveal more details about the new roles and the restructuring later this year at MIPCOM, which takes place in Cannes from October 17-20.
