With a wide range of film genres, the 8th Tryon International Film Festival will take place Friday-Sunday October 7-9 and will showcase 52 films from around the world. There are eight categories this year, including student films, feature films, documentaries and animation.
All 12 workshops are free to ticket holders and the general public and are aimed at anyone interested in the art and business of filmmaking. After the three-day in-person festival, all films will be available online for ticket holders for 10 days. Most activities will be centered in downtown Tryon, nestled in the foothills of North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains.
The festival will kick off with a street gala on Friday evening and end with a reception after the awards ceremony on Sunday evening. In addition to films and workshops, there will be many social activities, such as parties and receptions.
